I would rather emphasise that if a set of photocopy images (jpgs) of the pattern of holes on the tape could be made, 'the community' has the means to transform these into the original software. And that this would support a number of people who have working examples of the computers for which the software was developed - with some of whom you are in contact with through your videos and circuit boards. Although Sid is trying to contact the buyer of an Intellec 4 sold some time ago at auction, I would also stress that there is no other copy of the assembler tape that's known to exist. Five or six years ago I recognised a manual (uncatalogued) at a museum in Scotland that included the flowcharts for an early 'Autocode' system, as they were known for a time, which allowed programming to be more like the languages we speak at a time when machine code was the norm. Again, the only known copy. I located official guidance to museums (in UK) that they (museums) should be concerned to avoid being the sole holders of such material. In this instance, the curators were worried about copyright - and the current management of the company with theoretical rights was 'hard to reach'. Intel's copyright notice won't have made it's way on to the paper tape. But if further persuasion becomes necessary, the Intel Museum might be willing to support a request.
