Hi Craig, I am working on your SBC-85 and bus monitor board. Am finding it interesting as I had worked on an s-100 system many years ago. I did not understand much of the programming and other things (life) got in the way. Suffice to say, I have time to pursue this now and was working on your board and found several items that might be errata in the notes or the schematics. Being more of a hardware person than a software person learning the software is somewhat tough sledding. Maybe I am making more of it than needs to be but that is why I am doing these 'exercises' is to better understand the 8085 and related processors.
Back to the errata on the bus monitor board, I am not finding anything in the schematic showing where diode D56 is located and in tracing that and C47, seems as though that capacitor is not shown correctly in the schema. Based on continuity checks the diode is where the capacitor is shown and the capacitor actually goes to ground. Also there seems to be two different values indicated for C47, the schematic calls for a 1 uf and the BOM calls for a 100 pf.
On the SBC-85 board jumpers JP% and JP6 are marked in the notes as pin 1 being on the top of the board, and I am finding appears as though pin 3 is along the top edge of the board at least according to my way of looking at things.
Also was wondering as I am using a preprogrammed eprom with the bus monitor program loaded on it ( a 2764 eprom) and tried copying the program into a 28c256 eprom and moving jumpers to accommodate the -256 and things do not seem to respond correctly. Does the programming need editing to reflect the larger eprom? Looking forward to some advice on these issues. Thanks for your time.
