Hi Craig,

Sorry about not getting back to you. Things have been a little busy here
with work and a bit of a deep dive repair of a HP 8662A signal generator
I got for cheap. The interesting thing about the older HP gear is that
they are constructed with all with separate cards in edge connectors.
The service manual goes through running the system with just the CPU
card installed then adding memory and then various IO cards to diagnose
what cards introduce faults. Really clever design using a small ROM on
the CPU card that you can jumper in to turn on some basic diagnostics.

Anyway, I saw your latest video of the STD-85 board and it looks great.
It is such a huge effort to go from the initial idea to a fully working
card. I would be keen to get my hands on one of the STD-85 cards so if
you let me know what the cost and postage is to Melbourne I will Paypal
you the amount.

Regards,
Denis

It was a great introduction to embedded systems. We were using a C cross compiler hosted on a unix minicomputer and you push the compiled binary code to the boards with xmodem I think. I have recently been doing work on a Jetson Xavier so everything is hosted on the couple of hundred dollar development board.
